An analysis of performance appraisal effect on employee’s motivation in the Food and Beverage department in Intercontinental Hong Kong

Previous research has been done in analysing employee perceptions and motivations towards performance appraisal but lack of research have been done in South East Asia. This article aims to research the topic in the case of the Food and Beverage department in Intercontinental Hong Kong. In order to deeper the understanding of the employee perceptions and motivations on performance appraisal and factors which may contribute to the influences; journals, books and articles have been reviewed together with examination of expectancy theory, path-goal theory and goal setting theory. -
